We keep journaling on your device by default and explain when a feature needs a system permission or a network request.

1. Scope and overview

This policy applies to UltraJournal (超级日记) for iOS version 2.0. The app does not require an account. We do not provide developer-operated cloud sync for entries, advertising, or cross-app tracking. Journal content is stored on your device by default.

Features supplied by Apple and other providers may process information needed to fulfill a request. Those cases are described below.

2. Data stored on your device

Entries, rich text, photos, tags, mood, ratings, places, and weather details are stored locally. The app processes this content on your device for editing, search, calendar, statistics, memories, maps, widgets, and backups.

If Spotlight search is enabled, the app creates a local index of entries. App Lock and system file protection help restrict access on the device. Protect your device passcode and any backup files you create.

Version 2.0 uses a new local database. Previous-version entries are not migrated or shown automatically. Version 2.0 does not intentionally open, modify, or delete the legacy database. Back up important content in the previous version before updating.

3. Device permissions

Permissions are requested when you use the related feature. You may decline and later change them in iOS Settings.

  • Camera and Photos: capture or choose photos for an entry.
  • Location: attach your current place, show it on a map, or request local weather. You may search for a place manually instead.
  • Microphone and Speech Recognition: turn speech into text appended to an entry. Original audio is not saved as an entry attachment. Apple's system services provide recognition, and processing depends on device and system settings.
  • Face ID or device passcode: authenticate when you enable App Lock.
  • Notifications: used only if you enable related reminders.

4. Weather and third-party services

When you use weather, the app sends coordinates for the queried place to QWeather to obtain weather information. Entry text, photos, and tags are not sent with this request. QWeather may process coordinates, IP addresses, and request logs under its own terms and retention practices.

Maps are provided through Apple MapKit and purchases through Apple StoreKit. Apple and QWeather govern how their own services process information; please consult their published privacy notices.

5. Sharing, exports, and backups

When you choose UltraJournal in a system share sheet, selected text, URLs, or images are passed to the app and imported as a local draft. When you export Markdown or a ZIP backup, the file is handed to the system destination you choose. You control where it is kept and when it is deleted.

Export options let you decide whether to include location, photos, and precise coordinates. Check recipients before sharing a backup containing private details.

6. Your choices and deletion

You can view, edit, export, and delete entries in the app, and disable optional permissions. Deleting the app generally removes its local app data from the device; files you previously exported or shared must be managed separately at their destinations.

We do not sell journal content or use it for advertising. This static website does not require registration or personal-information forms.
